Responsibilities

SCOPE OF WORK:

  • This role is a combination of database administration and database development functions within Microsoft SQL Server.
  • In addition to day to day administration, the position requires writing applications to interface with SQL databases, designing tables, storing procedures, along with other SQL views and functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Database backup and recovery
  • Provide day-to-day support and maintenance for all internal databases
  • Manage database security and control access permissions and privileges
  • Respond to health alerts and produce maintenance plans and scripts
  • Manage release life cycles including development and production environments
  • Monitor database events and proactively optimize system performance
  • Perform health checks to ensure the integrity of the schema and the data
  • Migrate and transform data from external systems into a variety of repositories that can be used for management and operational reporting purposes
  • Perform data profiling and data analysis on the source systems
  • Complete data mappings from source to destination
  • Work with clients to understand data needs and fulfill complex data imports, exports, and migration needs
  • Implement ETL processes to acquire and load large datasets, and improve efficiency of existing ETL processes
  • Assist in developing scripts and protocols for large scale migrations
  • Manage data hygiene tasks, provide troubleshooting and updates to existing procedures as necessary
  • Work across departments to accurately set and manage client expectations
  • Detailed development and maintenance of appropriate database documentation and change management

Qualifications

WHAT YOU OFFER:

REQUIRED

  • At least 4 years of experience strategically designing and developing database solutions using tables, stored procedures, functions, views and indexes
  • Current Microsoft SQL certification(s)
  • Experience monitoring/tuning production application/database performance
  • Experience simplifying & optimizing large, complex SQL views

CERTIFICATIONS

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MTA 40-364): Database Fundamentals
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSA 40-462): Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Database

PREFERRED

  • Advanced knowledge of T-SQL including complex SQL queries (ex: using various joins and sub-queries) and best practices
  • Familiarity with Crystal Reports
  • Experience and knowledge of SSIS
  • Experience and knowledge of SSRS
